Motorola Signature 27 smartphone, Digi Mart USA News: Following the very high-end Motorola Signature, the brand is back with a new version that was already unveiled in late September at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit. The focus now turns to its release date and price.
According to the report, the Signature 27 features the most advanced camera system the brand has ever designed.
The main camera uses a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA L910 sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and optical stabilization across 3.5 degrees, along with LOFIC technology that helps preserve detail in high-contrast scenes. Motorola adds a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
The AI-based Super Zoom Pro feature reaches up to 100x.
The 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera covers a 122-degree field of view and uses four-in-one pixel binning to produce 12.5-megapixel images. The 50-megapixel front camera records in 4K.
The most significant novelty is the EVS action sensor, which the brand describes as a first for smartphones. It detects brightness changes pixel by pixel, independently of conventional sensors, and works with the Action Shot feature to freeze fast-moving subjects.
For video, the device records up to 8K at 30 frames per second and supports Dolby Vision. The Video Enhancement Engine adjusts colors, contrast and dynamic range in real time, and Qualcomm electronic stabilization complements the optical image stabilization.
According to the manufacturer, all of these figures have not yet been verified by independent tests.
The Signature 27 includes a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo display with a tandem two-layer emissive architecture. The brand claims a peak brightness of 12,000 cd/m², although this value was measured in a laboratory on a very small portion of the screen.
The display offers 1.5K resolution, a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and Pantone Validated certification. Motorola states energy efficiency improved by 34% and display lifespan increased by 121% compared with the previous model.
Power comes from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, paired with 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. RAM Boost can add virtual memory drawn from storage, for a total of up to 24 GB.
Storage is UFS 4.1 at 256 or 512 GB. The ArcticMesh cooling system combines a thermal gel loaded with diamond microparticles with a vapor chamber 40% larger, which Motorola says will better contain heating.
The 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery offers a typical capacity 35% higher than the original Signature (5,200 mAh). According to the manufacturer, twelve minutes of 90 W wired charging is enough to recover a full day of use, and 50 W wireless charging fills the battery in up to 80 minutes.
The company notes that in Germany the capacity is listed as 5,500 mAh.
The smartphone is compatible with Gemini, whose features will roll out progressively, including multi-step task automation and Rambler, which turns dictation into structured text. Create My Widget and Sign-to-Text, which translates American Sign Language, are also included.
Gemini Omni is used to create videos and Lyria to create soundtracks. Motorola Qira links compatible Motorola and Lenovo devices.
Availability of these features varies by country and language, and some require a subscription.
On audio, Motorola presents the Signature 27 as the only smartphone on the market with Audio by Bang & Olufsen. It combines coaxial stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certification.
The Signature 27 has an aluminum frame and a camera module made of ceramic and brushed aluminum. It comes in two Pantone finishes, Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive.
The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. The phone measures 7.99 mm thick and weighs 227 g.
It is rated IP68 and IP69 and has passed MIL-STD-810H military-standard tests. It ships with Android 17, will receive seven major system updates and up to seven years of security patches.
Finally, the Signature 27 will be the first Motorola compatible with GrapheneOS, a privacy-focused operating system. It also supports Arm’s Memory Tagging Extension (MTE), which limits exploitation of certain memory flaws.
ThinkShield and Moto Secure complete the security package. Motorola will detail in the coming months how GrapheneOS will be offered.
The Motorola Signature 27 is priced at €1,899. Pre-orders open November 16, 2026.
The original Signature was announced at €999 before its recommended price was officially raised to €1,299. From November 16 to December 1, pre-orders placed on the brand’s website include a moto sound flow Bluetooth speaker (stated value €199) and SDP Screen Damage Protection, insurance against screen breakage valued at €99.
