France October 2026 temperatures above normal, Digi Mart USA News (France): Warm weather continued into early autumn in France. According to Météo-France, October brought some easing of the heat after what the agency described as “four consecutive excessively hot months.”
Across the country, the average temperature for the month remained 1°C above the 1991–2020 average, according to the agency’s assessment presented on Thursday. Nationwide precipitation for October reached normal levels.
That national average masks significant regional differences. In the Southeast, Mediterranean weather episodes brought rainfall that Météo-France said was often equivalent to double the normal amount.
However, those rains eased the drought only locally. At the end of the month, soils in Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur were close to normal, but they remained drier than normal across much of the country, the bulletin noted.
