Truck driver rescued after being left bound hand and foot on Mexico-Puebla highway near Chalco, Digi Mart USA News (Chalco, State of Mexico): A truck driver was rescued after spending several hours tied hand and foot along the Mexico-Puebla highway near the Chalco toll booth in the State of Mexico (Edomex), according to a report published by UnoTV.

The driver, an employee of Transportes Guzmán, was abandoned by criminals after they stole his truck. Another transporter passing through the area stopped to help him and used a knife to free him.

According to the reports, the driver was intercepted by criminals who took control of the cargo vehicle. After the robbery, the attackers left him on the shoulder of the highway near the Chalco toll booth with his hands and feet bound.

The worker remained at that location for several hours, unable to free himself and beside one of the main routes connecting eastern Mexico Valley. The victim hoped a motorist or transporter passing by would help him until another cargo operator decided to stop.

The rescue was captured on video that circulated on social media, including on the X account of Mr. Cívico.

The footage shows a man recording his drive and saying he was carrying a knife to help another trucker who was tied up.

As he approached, the transporter showed the driver seated by the side of the road and the conditions in which he had been left, with his hands restrained and his feet also tied. During the recording, the helper said other drivers had not stopped because they were afraid to approach the victim.

Deciding to intervene, he cut the restraints so the worker could regain movement. His intervention allowed the operator to be assisted after several hours at the site.

The case again highlights cargo vehicle thefts on roads in Edomex, particularly on corridors connecting with Mexico City and other states. The Mexico-Puebla highway is an important route for transporting goods and heavy vehicles, with transport operators using it daily for distribution and logistics.

In this case, the criminals not only seized the vehicle but also left the driver immobilized and far from any point where he could request immediate help. The available information did not specify the characteristics of the stolen truck, the value of the cargo, or the identity of those responsible.

The second transporter’s assistance allowed the abandoned driver to receive help, while the theft of the vehicle remains a matter for the relevant authorities to investigate.
