France national football team Nations League matches vs Italy and Turkey, Digi Mart USA News: Zinédine Zidane’s second stint with Les Bleus is underway, and the new French coach has announced the list of 23 players who will represent France in the final two group-stage matches of the UEFA Nations League, against Italy and Turkey.
Qualification for the quarterfinals of the competition is at stake, and those quarterfinals will be played in March next year over a two-legged format. France must perform well in these two matches, since finishing first in the group would be advantageous.
France currently tops Group A1, which also includes Belgium. Finishing first would send France against a second-placed team in the quarterfinals, which is generally considered a more favorable opponent.
Topping the group also brings the advantage of hosting the second leg, which could be valuable if extra time is needed.
The French team’s schedule during the November international break is as follows: Italy vs. France on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 8:45 p.m.
CET at San Siro in Milan, followed by France vs. Turkey on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 8:45 p.m.
CET at the Stade Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux.
After four matches, France sits first in Group A1 with 10 points, ahead of Italy (7 points), Belgium (6 points) and Turkey (0 points). A draw in Italy would guarantee France a quarterfinal spot, while a win would secure first place before the final matchday.
