Chevilly-Larue rape complaint investigation, Digi Mart USA News (Chevilly-Larue, Val-de-Marne, France): A judicial investigation is underway in Chevilly-Larue, in the Val-de-Marne department south of Paris, after a student from Lyon filed a complaint alleging rape. According to the complaint, the alleged assault took place during the night of Friday, October 30, to Saturday, October 31.
According to Europe 1, the alleged attack was committed by a student from the Paris region who was hosting the complainant that night. The alleged victim had traveled to Paris to take part in a union meeting of high school students linked to a protest movement that began on September 18.
Without accommodation, he reportedly met a student from the Paris region who offered to let him sleep at his home before he returned to the Rhône department the following day.
According to the complainant’s account, his host became particularly insistent despite repeated refusals. The suspect allegedly then forced him to perform oral sex.
After feigning a sudden need to leave, the complainant immediately called on police for assistance.
When arrested, the Paris-region student reportedly asked officers to contact Sophia Chikirou, a deputy of La France Insoumise (LFI) whose personal number he claimed to have. No evidence has confirmed any contact with the lawmaker, or the existence of any relationship with the young man.
The investigation is continuing under the direction of the Créteil prosecutor’s office. At this stage, the accused is presumed innocent.
