Carmen Kassovitz on Being Known Through Her Father and Her Role in Campus Drivers, Digi Mart USA News: Carmen Kassovitz is the lead of Campus Drivers, a French teen series adapted from C.S. Quill’s new romance saga.

Playing Loïs, a scholarship student who stands out at an elite university, she describes a character very different from herself.

Loïs is shy, studious and orderly, while Kassovitz says she did not earn her baccalaureate and lives by a more bohemian philosophy. The actress, who will soon turn 25, was first spotted in 2020 through another French program, Stalk.

Kassovitz says she usually accepts nudity in teen series because she does not want to appear difficult, while remembering the millions of viewers who will see the work. She said she had a coordinator for intimacy on Campus Drivers, a change she appreciates after what she called a very bad earlier experience, though she declined to elaborate.

She acknowledged that online criticism, often aimed at women, has affected her. After reading comments about herself one evening, she said she cried for three or four days.

She also said she understands that people identify her mainly through her father, director Mathieu Kassovitz, and that being a so-called nepo baby gives an advantage in the industry.

Kassovitz also spoke about youth protests, saying police violence and the state’s inaction angered her. She said she has never spoken publicly about politics because she is an actress, but that with 2027 approaching, people must take responsibility.

Campus Drivers premieres on Prime Video on November 6.
