Grasshoppers vs. Lausanne-Sport Super League preview, Digi Mart USA News (Zurich, Switzerland): The bottom-of-the-table clash between Grasshoppers and Lausanne-Sport in the 13th Super League round on Saturday carries plenty of tension. GC coach Olaf Janssen says his side has more than a spark of hope.

Grasshoppers have yet to win under Janssen, who has been in charge for three Super League matches. After a 2-0 defeat to Young Boys in his first match, the record champions earned a 0-0 draw at Basel and most recently a 2-2 draw against Vaduz.

Janssen, 60, believes the team is on the right path. “It feels good,” he said.

He sees progress in compactness and in the team’s mentality both with and without the ball, while acknowledging that a lot of work remains. “We have the time for it.

What matters is that we and the outside world notice that we are making steps. That makes us more convinced.”

“You can feel the will and the hunger to win the first league match since my arrival,” Janssen stressed. He has been in the job for about a month, and a home win against Lausanne-Sport would be an ideal way to collect maximum points.

Lausanne-Sport have had a turbulent few days. Last Sunday, on the club’s 130th anniversary, they led FC Thun 4-1 late in the match but lost 5-4.

Ludovic Magnin has now begun his second spell as Lausanne-Sport coach.

Janssen said the recent events sound like a horror film, adding that he would not wish such a dramatic defeat on any team. He expects Lausanne-Sport to be highly motivated following the coaching change.

Janssen also believes Magnin has been able to get his players back on their feet in the short time available. “He will certainly manage to take the fear away from the young players, so we are preparing for a difficult task.” He said Grasshoppers can nonethely hold their own with a group that is growing closer together.

The match at the Letzigrund kicks off at 8:30 p.m. local time on Saturday and will be broadcast live on SRF zwei with audio description and in the SRF Sport app.

A live ticker is also available.

Highlights of the first part of the 13th matchday will air on SRF zwei at 10:35 p.m. in the program “Super League – Highlights.”
