The incident took place along Exportación alley, at the access to the Export Customs Office near the Chilpancingo Industrial Park. Municipal police responded after receiving a report that a person could not get down from the wall and requested firefighter assistance.

U.S. immigration authorities were also at the scene and attempted to help the young man with a ladder from the American side.

According to information gathered at the site, the migrant had recently arrived from Chiapas with the intention of crossing into the United States, but became nervous and refused help.

One firefighter communicated with the young man and offered him water to calm him, eventually persuading him to descend on the Mexican side. He finally climbed down under his own power using a ladder placed by the rescuers.

After being evaluated by firefighters, the migrant was removed from the scene in a Municipal Police vehicle.
