Klubhaus St. Pauli Lighthouse 3D LED media facade Hamburg, Digi Mart USA News (Spielbudenplatz, Hamburg, Germany): The Klubhaus St. Pauli opened a new media facade at Spielbudenplatz in Hamburg on Friday, November 6, 2026.
The installation, called “Lighthouse St. Pauli,” covers more than 530 square meters and cost 3.5 million euros.
The centerpiece is the so-called “Naked Eye” effect. Using perspective techniques, the technology creates three-dimensional images that passersby can see without glasses.
The operator says solar energy will largely cover the system’s operation.
The operator also states that a new LED technology saves 40 percent energy compared with conventional systems.
The facade shows a mix of one-third advertising, content from the Klubhaus tenants and the St. Pauli neighborhood, and specially produced art and cultural formats.
The advertising space is marketed by blowUP media, a company of the Ströer Group, which also owns t-online.
Drag queen Olivia Jones said that a oversized “Paradise Bird” good-luck clock will present “good news” (German for good news) every full hour. Speaking to t-online, she said: “St.
Pauli stands for joie de vivre, and that is now also reflected in a media facade. We are bombarded with bad news, and the many good news items never make it as news.
But we must look positively into the future.”
The Klubhaus St. Pauli opened in 2015 at Spielbudenplatz and combines live music clubs, bars, a theater and several event venues.
The earlier media facade had already attracted international attention, and the new “Lighthouse” is its successor.
