Mexico 2027 federal budget of 10.6 trillion pesos, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Mexico is preparing to decide how to spend more than 10.5 trillion pesos in 2027. The figure is enormous and hard for most citizens to picture, while households are focused on everyday concerns such as food, health, security, employment, transportation, housing and opportunities.

The Budget Committee of the Chamber of Deputies approved the proposal in general by 33 votes in favor and 12 against. Morena, its allies and Movimiento Ciudadano backed the measure, while the PAN and PRI voted against it.

The document sets total net spending at 10,636,488.1 million pesos, about 442,804 million pesos more than the budget approved for 2026, a real increase of 1.3%.

The legislative analysis has not yet concluded. The full Chamber of Deputies is expected to debate and vote on the final budget beginning Monday, November 9.

Budget approval is not a simple accounting exercise, the article notes. It reflects political and administrative priorities that determine which activities receive resources and which must face restrictions.

Some spending is legally committed and cannot be changed freely.

The government of Claudia Sheinbaum argues that the proposal combines social welfare, public investment, fiscal discipline and economic growth. The Ministry of Finance proposes increases for education, science, health and security while guaranteeing priority social programs.

Supporters highlight direct transfers as support for vulnerable sectors, while critics question financing needs, spending priorities and the real condition of public services.

The project reserves more than 1.025 trillion pesos for social programs. Pensions, scholarships and support payments can make a considerable difference for older adults, people with disabilities, students and low-income households, allowing them to afford food, medicine and transportation.
