Michel Cymes 2027 French presidential election position, Digi Mart USA News: Michel Cymes has never been shy about speaking out on public health, and at 69 the physician and television host continues to share his convictions, including on social media. When asked about the 2027 French presidential election, however, he preferred to keep certain views to himself.
Appearing on the program Buzz TV on Friday, November 6, before journalists Sarah Lecœuvre and Damien Canivez, he was asked whether he would endorse a candidate. His answer was immediate: “Not publicly.” He did not name anyone.
He did, however, restate a long-held position. “I have always said: neither the far right nor the far left.
In any case, I am very clear on that,” he said. He also suggested that some politicians interest him more than others, saying “there are some who are very good,” and acknowledging somewhat stronger affinities with one candidate, whose identity he did not reveal.
Asked whether he would help a candidate he respected, he said he would do so discreetly. “If a candidate for whom I have respect and admiration asked me to help by offering my expertise, I would do it, but discreetly, in the shadows and not publicly,” he said.
Journalist Damien Canivez pressed him on which political figures he favored, particularly in light of the platforms of Marine Le Pen and Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Cymes responded irritably, asking whether Canivez took him for a fool and noting that he had already said he would act in the shadows.
Cymes, who formerly hosted the program Le Magazine de la santé, said he has found another way to express his ideas. On Instagram he is publishing a video series titled “If I Were President…”, in which he imagines measures he would introduce as president or as health minister.
The series addresses social issues with humor while promoting messages he cares about, including mandatory helmets for electric scooter riders and mandatory vaccination.
