CBC Remembrance Day coverage 2026, Digi Mart USA News (Canada): This Wednesday, 108 years after the end of the First World War, Canadians will pause to honour the sacrifices made then and in conflicts since.
Twenty-five years ago, thousands of Canadian troops answered the call as Canada joined the United States in a mission to fight the Taliban regime in Afghanistan in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks.
Over the 13-year military operation, 40,000 Canadians served, 158 died and thousands of lives were impacted.
On Nov. 11, Canadians honour the sacrifice of these soldiers and others and hear their stories.
