Paving of Calle Mexico in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Digi Mart USA News (La Paz, Baja California Sur): Construction on a section of Calle Mexico in the La Rinconada Agustin Olachea Aviles neighborhood of La Paz begins today, Wednesday, November 4, with an investment of 4.9 million pesos.

The paving project, using hydraulic concrete, will run between Monterrey and Campeche streets. It is being carried out by the state government through the Secretariat of Urban Planning, Infrastructure, Mobility, Environment and Natural Resources (SEPUIMM).

Undersecretary of Infrastructure and Public Works Edgar de la Cruz Dominguez said the work responds to a demand from residents, who for years have had difficulty reaching their homes, especially during the rainy season.

Beyond paving, the project includes renewing potable water and sanitary drainage networks, building sidewalks and curbs, installing solar public lighting, and constructing storm protection works. Landscaping, street furniture and road signage are also planned to improve mobility and safety for pedestrians and drivers.

SEPUIMM urged neighbors and drivers in the area to take precautions, obey posted warning signs and use alternate routes while construction is underway.
