Cyril Hanouna complaint over on-air comments about Ouest-France journalist, Digi Mart USA News: Television host Cyril Hanouna is the subject of a complaint filed by the Ligue de défense des valeurs républicaines (LDVR), a national network of thirteen associations, according to a report by Le Parisien cited in the publisher’s article.
The LDVR accuses Hanouna of publicly targeting a journalist from Ouest-France during the W9 program Tout beau, tout neuf on Thursday, October 29, 2026. The complaint states that Hanouna went beyond his obligations after journalist Maxime Fettweis published an article questioning the place of political debate in the show, which M6 had said it would refocus on entertainment when it hired the host.
According to the report, Hanouna mocked the article, ridiculed the poor ratings of NOVO19, a channel owned by the SIPA Ouest-France group, and questioned the professional career of the journalist, who has worked for several newsrooms. Hanouna is reportedly being prosecuted for moral harassment, defamation and public insults.
Michael Bastien, president of the LDVR, said that fame should not be used to harm others. He added that the segment triggered a wave of cyberbullying, and that Fettweis has since received numerous malicious and insulting messages.
The LDVR is requesting an investigation and police custody for Hanouna, subject to the conditions set by law.
