Hawks-Nets matchup predictions, Digi Mart USA News: The Atlanta Hawks are coming into tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets on a three-game winning streak and looking to make it four in a row. After back-to-back wins over the Washington Wizards, the Hawks will face the Nets for the first time this season and try to keep their momentum going heading into next week.
Atlanta is expected to get a boost with the return of star forward Jalen Johnson, who is listed as probable on the injury report after missing the last three games with an ankle injury. The Hawks managed to weather his absence, and they will welcome back their All-NBA forward.
Here are three bold predictions for tonight’s game.
Atlanta put together a 139-point performance last night, and the author believes the team is finding its rhythm on that end of the floor. The Nets do not have any standout defenders, and Brooklyn ranks 26th in the NBA in three-point attempts allowed and 20th in three-point percentage given up.
There should be plenty of quality shots available for the Hawks, and their offense has been firing on all cylinders in the last two games since Kingston Flemings was inserted into the starting lineup.
Daniels quickly recorded five rebounds and five assists in the first quarter of last night’s win over Washington and appeared on his way to his third career triple-double. He finished one rebound short of the mark, and the author thinks the Nets will give him another opportunity to finish the job.
With Johnson back, Daniels will have fewer rebounding opportunities, but the author expects him to find a way to get the job done and help carry the Hawks to victory.
When Dort is shooting well, the Hawks offense becomes even more dangerous. In two of the last three games, he has made at least four threes.
He may not see the same number of minutes with Johnson returning and Dort heading back to the bench, but the author still expects him to have opportunities against Brooklyn. Dort finished last night’s game with 25 points and five made threes in his best game of the season, and the author anticipates a strong follow-up.
