Willow therapy dog 4th birthday celebrated by school pupils, Digi Mart USA News (Bishop’s Stortford, England): In Bishop’s Stortford, England, Willow holds a special place: the Golden Retriever is the therapy dog at Howe Green House School. To mark her fourth birthday, the pupils wanted to celebrate, and the school shared the moment on its Instagram page.

Across the Channel, therapy dogs in schools are increasingly valued for helping pupils feel better and calm down. Willow is an example of this.

Much loved by the children at the Bishop’s Stortford school where she works, the dog helps create a calmer and warmer atmosphere. Her birthday, celebrated by the schoolchildren, was reported by India Today.

For her fourth birthday, the Golden Retriever received a surprise organized by the pupils in the form of a song sung in chorus. The school later posted the scene on its official Instagram page.

Facing the dog with her golden coat and a red checked scarf tied around her neck, the children in uniform arranged themselves in a semicircle before singing “Happy Birthday” enthusiastically. Meanwhile, Willow did not move from her spot: positioned in the middle of the group, her tail wagging, she watched the show without being disturbed by the noise of the pupils, a commotion that seemed familiar to her.

In this lively scene, the bond between the dog and the children was evident: to them, Willow goes well beyond the role of a school animal. Beneath the video, the school wrote a short message:

“Happy 4th birthday to Willow, our therapy dog! Yesterday, all the children wished Willow a very happy birthday and took part in celebrating this special day.”

The video quickly spread on social media, where it drew many emotional reactions: many users noted the dog’s serenity amid the children’s chorus, and some added that the images had lifted their spirits.

Beyond the celebration, the video highlighted the role that therapy dogs like Willow can play with children, forming bonds with them and bringing them calm. A presence that the pupils of Bishop’s Stortford chose to honor in their own way, with a song.
