Main-Kinzig-Kreis unemployment falls below 6,000 despite economic downturn, Digi Mart USA News (Main-Kinzig-Kreis, Germany): Despite a tense economic situation, there is good news from the labor market in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis district in Hesse, Germany. The number of unemployed people registered with the Kommunales Center für Arbeit fell below the 6,000 mark in October.

Exactly 5,913 people were registered as unemployed with the Kommunales Center für Arbeit most recently. That is roughly 600 fewer than at the beginning of the year, even though business closures, insolvencies and job cuts are weighing on the regional economy.

There is a catch, however. More than half of those affected have been without a job for over a year.

In addition, the figures cover only Bürgergeld recipients in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis excluding Hanau. A general easing of the labor market cannot yet be claimed on that basis.
