Josh O’Connor James Bond casting rumor, Digi Mart USA News (London, England): English actor Josh O’Connor may be the next James Bond, according to pub chatter reported by The Sun and relayed by Page Six. One of O’Connor’s cast members in the drama “Golden Boy” reportedly insisted that the actor will play Mr.
Bond, claiming he confided in them about the role.
According to a source, the cast member made the remark while drinking with a Page Six source at The French House in London. The source said the cast member was “insistent” that O’Connor, 36, had landed the role, and said the actor had confided in them during a celebratory gathering after the play closed its run on Halloween.
Page Six reached out to Amazon and EON Productions for comment. The next James Bond film, known as “Bond 26,” is slated to premiere in 2028, though no official date has been announced.
It will be developed by Amazon MGM Studios.
The identity of the next Bond remains unconfirmed. Rumored names have included O’Connor, Jacob Elordi, Jack Lowden and Callum Turner, and screen tests are reportedly ongoing.
In a BBC interview on Tuesday, O’Connor said he was “very honored” to be considered for the role. “It’s an incredibly bizarre, pinch-me moment,” he said, though he declined to elaborate, saying he was “afraid” there was “nothing to say beyond that.”
Daniel Craig, 58, stepped away from the role after starring in “No Time To Die” in 2021. O’Connor most recently starred as Dr.
Daniel Kellner in the sci-fi thriller “Disclosure Day” and is known for playing a younger King Charles III in “The Crown.” In 2021, he won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for that role.
