Burned body found in burned-out car on A73 highway near Bamberg, Germany, Digi Mart USA News (Bamberg, Germany): A grisly discovery was made on the A73 highway in Bavaria after a vehicle fire early Saturday morning. Firefighters from Hirschaid were called to a burning car around 4:30 a.m.

The vehicle was parked on the emergency lane about one kilometer before the Bamberg-Süd junction.

After firefighters extinguished the flames, rescue crews found a body inside the burned-out interior of the car. It was initially unclear whether another person might have been in the vehicle.

Police and firefighters therefore launched a large-scale search of the adjacent Hauptsmoorwald forest, using drones to scan the area.

Crime scene investigators began their work, and a senior public prosecutor and forensic medicine experts from Erlangen arrived at the scene during the morning. A fire expert from Munich is expected to help reconstruct the origin of the fire.

The burned car was eventually towed away with the body and secured as evidence.

Forensic and criminal technical examinations are now expected to determine the identity of the deceased and what happened on the A73.
