Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City Premier League preview, Digi Mart USA News: Nottingham Forest host Manchester City at City Ground on Saturday, November 7, in the Premier League. The visitors are chasing the league title and need three points to keep pace with Arsenal at the top of the table.

Forest, meanwhile, have had a difficult start to the season and hope home advantage can help them finally turn their form around.

The match kicks off at 18:30 Norwegian time and is broadcast live on V Sport Premier League and Viaplay. Norwegian viewers can follow the match both on regular television and via streaming.

Manchester City enjoyed a near-perfect start to the Premier League season under Enzo Maresca, winning their first seven league matches. Since then, however, they have lost two consecutive games, against Aston Villa and Brighton.

Arsenal have now taken over top spot, while City sit second with 21 points from nine matches.

Manchester City have not been written off, however. On Wednesday, City won 3–2 away to RB Leipzig in the Champions League, a result that gave the team a lift after their disappointing league form.

Against Nottingham Forest, City will need to rediscover the stability that marked their opening to the season. The team has created many chances but has looked more vulnerable defensively in recent weeks.

A win at City Ground would put pressure on Arsenal, who play Hull earlier on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest have made a heavy start to the season and sit 19th with six points from nine matches. They have won only once, drawn three and lost five.

Oliver Glasner’s side have struggled particularly in front of goal. Forest have scored six times in their first nine league matches, the fewest of any Premier League club, which is notable given that they have also been among the teams taking the most shots.

Last weekend, Forest lost 2–0 away to Brentford. It was their fourth defeat in their last five league matches, and pressure is mounting on Glasner.

Home form offers little cause for optimism either. Forest have not yet scored at City Ground in the Premier League this season and have three losses and one draw from their first four home matches.

Against Manchester City, Forest must find a way to become more dangerous in attack while keeping control of one of the league’s most productive forward lines.

Erling Braut Haaland is naturally one of the players Norwegian viewers will follow most closely. The Norwegian national team striker has scored nine Premier League goals this season and is a key part of Manchester City’s attacking play.

Haaland is especially dangerous when City manage to play in behind the opposition defence. His movement inside the penalty area and his ability to finish with few touches make him difficult to handle, even for established Premier League defenders.

Rayan Cherki and Jérémy Doku are among the players who can add creativity around the Norwegian. Elliot Anderson, who has moved from Nottingham Forest, has also been given an important role in midfield.

City will be without Antoine Semenyo, who is out with a knee injury. Nico O’Reilly is also doubtful ahead of the match.

For Forest, Morgan Gibbs-White will be a central player. The attacking midfielder is important to the team’s creativity and could play a decisive role if the home side are to cause problems for the visitors.

Although Manchester City have had a clear edge in recent meetings, Nottingham Forest have shown it is possible to surprise the Citizens at City Ground.

In March 2025, Forest beat City 1–0 at home, an important win that showed the team could hold its own against an opponent with far greater resources.

Since then, Manchester City have had the upper hand. In December 2025, City won 2–1 at City Ground, while the most recent meeting between the clubs ended 2–2 at the Etihad Stadium in March 2026.

Forest have won only one of the last nine Premier League meetings with Manchester City. Five of those matches ended in City victories, and three were draws.

History therefore points toward the visitors, but City’s two consecutive league defeats mean Forest could see an opportunity if the home side can keep the match close.

City Ground is known for an intense atmosphere, particularly when Nottingham Forest face England’s biggest clubs. The home crowd could give the team a lift, even though results this season have been disappointing.

Forest will likely try to stay compact defensively and exploit opportunities that arise when City lose the ball. With players such as Gibbs-White and Dan Ndoye, the home side have attacking options that can create problems on the counterattack.

Manchester City, for their part, will try to control possession and push Forest back. If the visitors establish their game around the home side’s penalty area, it could be a long evening for Glasner’s team.

An early goal could prove decisive. If City score first, Forest will have to take greater risks in attack.

If the home side keep a clean sheet for a long time, frustration may begin to set in among the visitors.

Manchester City sit three points behind Arsenal and need a win to stay in contact with the league leaders. After two consecutive defeats, Maresca’s side cannot afford many more mistakes if the club is to contest the title.

For Nottingham Forest, the situation is quite different. The club is in a relegation position and needs points to move away from the bottom of the table.

Forest have taken only six points from nine matches, and their weak goal production makes the situation even more challenging. Even a single point against Manchester City would be a positive result, but the home side also need to start winning matches.

City come to Nottingham as clear favourites, but recent weeks have shown that even the biggest teams can run into trouble in the Premier League.

Manchester City have the strongest squad by a clear margin and will be favourites to take all three points. Haaland and his teammates have shown great attacking quality throughout the season, and the visitors have much to prove after their defeats to Aston Villa and Brighton.

Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, have struggled badly to score goals. If the home side are to earn a positive result, their finishing in front of goal will need to improve significantly.

At the same time, City’s recent dip in form could give Forest hope. The home side have beaten the Manchester club at City Ground before, and with a solid defensive performance it may be possible to make the match competitive.

For Norwegian viewers, it will be especially interesting to watch Erling Braut Haaland and see whether he can help City get back on track in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City is played Saturday, November 7, at 18:30 Norwegian time at City Ground in Nottingham. The match is broadcast live on V Sport Premier League and can be streamed on Viaplay.
