Ireland vs Argentina rugby prediction, Digi Mart USA News: The inaugural Nations Championship resumes at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Friday evening, with Ireland hosting Argentina. The fixture carries plenty of history, including the so-called Dublin hoodoo, where Argentina have played eleven times in the Irish capital without a win.

Felipe Contepomi, the former Leinster player and coach, returns to the Aviva Stadium with Argentina. Andy Farrell has said Ireland are not yet World Cup contenders, and the match is viewed as the first step of a twelve-month road to Australia 2027.

Argentina’s overall record against Ireland is slightly worse than it first appears, with no wins in eleven capped Tests in Ireland. Their broader record is three wins from four at neutral venues, leaving an overall tally of 14 wins to six in Ireland’s favor.

Recent meetings include a 22-19 Irish victory in 2024.

Ireland have had a mixed year, with wins over Australia and Japan but a heavy 40-21 defeat to the All Blacks at Eden Park in July. Argentina have beaten Wales 35-21 but lost to Scotland 47-38 in Córdoba and to England 31-24 in a lengthy match.

Contepomi has acknowledged that Argentina have lost more matches than they have won this year.

Ireland face an all-new back-row trio, with Nick Timoney, Sean Jansen and Ryan Baird starting, while Caelan Doris and Jack Conan are out. Argentina’s back row of Juan Martín González, Marcos Kremer and Pablo Matera is one of the most formidable in Test rugby.

The aerial battle and set-piece control are expected to decide the outcome.

At half-back, Craig Casey and Sam Prendergast start for Ireland, while Gonzalo García and Tomás Albornoz start for Argentina. Shaun Edwards runs the Argentine defense.

Ireland’s front row features Andrew Porter, Dan Sheehan and Tadhg Furlong, who is free of suspension.

Andy Farrell has played down talk of Ireland deserving a win, saying that if a player feels comfortable, the group is failing. Contepomi has said the Irish challenge carries meaning for the Pumas because Ireland are the only team they have never beaten away from home.

The match is scheduled for Friday, 6 November 2026, at the Aviva Stadium with a 20:10 local kick-off. Luke Pearce of the RFU is the referee.

The prediction favors Ireland by 15 points, with a projected final score of 36-21.
