According to an official statement from the U.S. diplomatic mission, coordination between Washington and Mexican authorities has intensified efforts against cartels and criminal organizations, drug and arms trafficking, irregular migration and human trafficking.

The document states that cooperation between the two governments has reached unprecedented levels, enabling joint operations and the exchange of intelligence. U.S.

authorities say these results help save lives, protect families and improve security in communities in both countries.

The diplomatic mission, which includes the U.S. Embassy in Mexico and nine consulates, says these advances represent a significant shift in bilateral cooperation strategy.

It says they allow action against criminal structures both on the ground and in their financial networks.

One of the main results highlighted is a decline in apprehensions on the southwest border, which, according to data released by the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, have reached their lowest level since records began.

U.S. Border Patrol has recorded a 95% reduction in apprehensions over the last 12 months.

Washington attributes this trend to strengthened border surveillance and greater cooperation to combat human smuggling and dismantle criminal networks that facilitate irregular crossings.

Counternarcotics is another main pillar of bilateral cooperation. The statement says overdose deaths in the United States have fallen 40% from the peak of the crisis, a trend U.S.

The document also stresses that joint operations are not limited to drug seizures. The strategy includes disrupting the supply of chemical precursors used to make synthetic drugs, dismantling clandestine laboratories and intercepting distribution networks.

U.S. authorities also say they are intensifying action against the economic resources of criminal organizations through asset seizures and sanctions on their sources of financing.

Efforts against cartels and criminal organizations have also included reinforced judicial and police action on both sides of the border. According to data released by the U.S.

Embassy in Mexico, U.S. authorities have seized more than 50,000 firearms and about 2.9 million cartridges, and have detained more than 10,000 people linked to arms trafficking.

On judicial cooperation, the statement presents additional results.

authorities say sanctions are aimed at cartel leaders as well as intermediaries, money launderers, facilitators and shell companies used to hide illicit activity. According to the statement, the goal is to weaken organizations from their leadership structures down to their financing and operating mechanisms.

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico frames these results within the national security objectives of the administration of President Donald Trump.

The statement attributes progress to coordination among U.S. agencies, the exchange of intelligence and joint law enforcement actions.

The diplomatic mission argues that reducing the flow of drugs into U.S. streets, seizing weapons, combating human trafficking and prosecuting those responsible for serious crimes contribute to improved security and economic opportunities for families and businesses in both countries.

In response, Washington has stated its intention to continue expanding cooperation with Mexico to address shared threats and advance several strategic objectives. The statement concludes by defending the continuity of bilateral collaboration mechanisms and intelligence sharing as essential tools to combat criminal organizations.
