TikTok Digital Wellbeing Guide Mexico, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): TikTok presented its new Digital Wellbeing Guide in Mexico, a resource that brings together tools for developing healthier habits, recommendations for using social media consciously, and guidance on situations that may affect users’ emotional wellbeing.
The initiative is aimed at the entire TikTok community, with particular attention to adolescents, mothers, fathers and guardians. Its content addresses different aspects of digital life, from the relationship between social media use and sleep habits to its influence on productivity and interactions with other people.
One of the most notable sections includes seven questions developed in collaboration with specialists from Internet Matters. Through them, users can reflect on how much time they spend connected, how that consumption affects their daily activities, and what changes they could make to achieve a more balanced experience.
The guide also explains how to use some of the features TikTok already offers, such as screen time controls, which allow users to set daily limits and schedule breaks. Added to these tools is Restricted Mode, designed to limit exposure to content that may not be suitable for all audiences.
The guide also includes Wellbeing Missions, which invite users to develop digital habits through small activities and goals. For example, they can set usage limits, maintain bedtime routines, or take part in breathing exercises to rest during the day.
The guide’s content is not limited to the time spent using the app. TikTok has also incorporated specialized information and resources on sensitive topics, including suicidal thoughts, self-harm, eating disorders and dangerous challenges that may circulate online.
To develop these sections, the company collaborated with organizations including the Consejo Ciudadano para la Seguridad y Justicia de la Ciudad de México, Comenzar de Nuevo and Tejiendo Redes Infancia, which provided information focused on prevention, recognizing warning signs and seeking specialized support.
According to Edgar Rodríguez, Director of Public Affairs for TikTok Latin America, the goal is to bring reliable information together in one place so people can manage their experience on the platform and find guidance when facing difficult situations.
The importance of these resources is also reflected in figures shared by the Consejo Ciudadano. Over the past year, the organization reached more than 25 million views on TikTok, while 61% of care requests received through the platform were related to psychological support and its suicide prevention program.
Young people aged 18 to 30 were the most frequent requesters of help through this channel.
In addition, the new guide includes recommendations for reporting videos, comments or accounts that violate the Community Guidelines. Users can consult the full document in its digital version and find additional resources in the TikTok Safety Center.
