Ebrard said innovation is the process for changing Mexico’s future and stressed the importance of intellectual property. He cited Mexico’s growth as an exporter in semiconductors, computing, data center equipment and artificial intelligence-related industries, and said the initiative invites young people and companies in Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo to participate.

Governor Díaz Mena said Yucatán is opening its doors to innovation from across Mexico and pointed to the Renacimiento Maya project as a driver of development and shared prosperity. Salomón said Lotería Nacional was proud to join the celebration, noting that 3.6 million tickets will circulate nationwide.

Salomón said the institution’s focus on science and technology supports sovereignty and shared prosperity under President Claudia Sheinbaum’s leadership. She emphasized that the people behind inventions and projects are central to InnovaFest.

IMPI Director Vidal Llerenas Morales said the institute promotes mechanisms to protect national creations, encourage technology transfer and turn knowledge into solutions. He reported that IMPI has received 15,500 international patent applications and 2,500 national applications, and that the institute reduced patent grant resolution time to 12 months.

Cecilia Bañuelos said Mexico has the talent to create its own solutions and that the effort aligns with the Plan México initiative, which aims to increase national technology content in global value chains and strengthen domestic suppliers.

Three million 600 thousand tickets will be available through authorized sales points, miloteria.mx and the MiLotería app, and the draw will be streamed on Lotería Nacional’s institutional YouTube channel, Sorteos Tradicionales.
