Sheinbaum denies Hernández Casillas brothers and Guadalupe Taddei left Mexico, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): During her press conference “La Mañanera del Pueblo,” President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo ruled out that Guadalupe Taddei and brothers José Alfredo and Raymundo Hernández Casillas have left Mexico. The statement comes amid investigations into alleged irregularities and corruption linked to contracts with the National Electoral Institute (INE).
Asked directly whether the whereabouts of those involved had been discussed in meetings of the federal Security Cabinet, the president said the matter had not been raised in that forum. However, she said the official position is that they remain within national territory.
“So far this topic has not been discussed. Yes, that is what we presume, but let the investigation be reviewed,” the head of the Executive said.
The statement was made during the presentation of a report prepared by the Anticorruption and Good Government Secretariat (SABG). The report describes a network of companies directly linked to José Alfredo and Raymundo Hernández Casillas, through which millions of pesos in contracts were allegedly obtained from the electoral body.
According to the morning conference, the corruption allegations place under review the financial operations and awards granted to these supplier companies within the INE’s institutional structure.
Sheinbaum also confirmed that the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) took precautionary measures after detecting high-risk financial operations. As a result, the UIF froze bank accounts belonging to individuals and companies linked to the electoral suppliers named in the investigation.
The president stressed the importance of allowing the formal process to continue so that the responsible authorities can complete their inquiries and determine accountability in the case.
