Pedro Escobedo Fiscalía General del Estado new unit construction, Querétaro, Digi Mart USA News (Querétaro, Mexico): The Secretariat of Urban Development and Public Works of the State of Querétaro (Sduop) has launched a public tender for the construction of a new unit of the State Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía General del Estado) in the municipality of Pedro Escobedo.
According to the tender, published in the official state gazette “La Sombra de Arteaga,” construction is scheduled to begin on November 30 and is expected to last about six months. The facility would therefore enter operation at the end of May 2027.
Interested contractors are to submit their financial proposals on November 17, after which the state will award the contract on November 24. Construction work is set to begin one week later.
Last week, the head of Sduop, José Pío X Salgado, said the building would cost roughly 30 million pesos. He explained that the investment will be entirely state-funded, as the project is included in the 2026 annual public works program.
Once completed, the Pedro Escobedo unit will be the ninth unit of the Attorney General’s Office in the state. Of the eight existing units, five are located in the municipality of Querétaro, two in El Marqués and one in Corregidora.
The agency currently operates an Investigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms Unit in Pedro Escobedo, as it does in nine other municipalities. It also has six specialized prosecutor’s offices within the Metropolitan Zone, so the new unit would represent an expansion of the agency beyond that region.
