Morena legal action against Vicente Fox, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico City): The Morena caucus in the Congress of Mexico City will file legal complaints against former Mexican president Vicente Fox Quesada, following recent public statements he made.
Deputy Xóchitl Bravo Espinosa accused Fox of governing Mexico as if it were a private business. During a meeting at the capital’s Congress, the parliamentary leader said his administration sought to benefit companies rather than help the people.
Bravo called the former president a criminal of elections for admitting that he meddled in the 2006 vote. According to a video circulated by various digital media outlets, Bravo said Fox publicly acknowledged that he intervened in that year’s presidential election to prevent the opposition from winning.
The Morena lawmakers said Fox’s recent comments strip the National Action Party (PAN) of political strength and value. According to the deputies, the former president’s remarks harm his own political force and recall old pacts from the past.
The Morena representatives said they will defend democracy through peaceful means and through the vote of citizens. The group confirmed that it will deliver official documents in the coming days to open the legal process against the former president.
