León Plans Exclusive Bus Lanes on Delta, Hidalgo and Timoteo Lozano Boulevards in 2027

Leon SIT exclusive bus lanes expansion 2027: León's municipal mobility agency is preparing an expansion of exclusive lanes for the Integrated Transport System, with work planned on Delta, Hidalgo and Timoteo Lozano boulevards to speed public transport and shorten travel times across the city's south, east and north zones.

Leon SIT exclusive bus lanes expansion 2027, Digi Mart USA News (León, Guanajuato, Mexico): According to the General Directorate of Mobility of León, a plan to expand the exclusive lane network of the Integrated Transport System (SIT) is being prepared for 2027. The goal is to prioritize public transport and shorten travel times for users in the city’s south, east and north zones.

Leopoldo Mora Flores, director of the municipal agency, confirmed that technical projections include interventions on Delta, Hidalgo and Timoteo Lozano boulevards. The plan responds to road infrastructure needs raised by transport operators themselves.

The plan will begin with an exclusive lane on Timoteo Lozano Boulevard, near the transfer terminal. According to the Mobility Directorate, the new section in the south zone will directly benefit users of conventional route 73, the Line 6 trunk route and Express route 03, with an estimated reduction of 10 to 15 minutes in travel time along that stretch.

For now, Cañaveral Boulevard is not included in the exclusive lane program, because a new public transport route is planned for that road instead.

Another highlighted project is a mobility analysis for León. Municipal authorities are seeking an allocation of 184,444 pesos to carry out road diagnostics and projects that will determine the technical feasibility of each section.

The project places special emphasis on evaluating Delta Boulevard in the east zone, various sections of Hidalgo Boulevard to the north, complementary extensions in the south sector, and future evaluations of exclusive lanes in the west of the municipality.
