INE contractor José Alfredo Hernández Casillas amparo over feared arrest warrant, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Since February of this year, INE contractor José Alfredo Hernández Casillas, who is linked to former council president Guadalupe Taddei, has filed an amparo out of fear that a judge might issue an arrest warrant against him. Latinus obtained a copy of the lawsuit.
In the filing, Hernández states that he has always enjoyed a good reputation and respects Mexican laws, adding that he is certain he has not committed any crime. He says he is a Mexican citizen who has acted in accordance with the constitutional framework and is fully willing to take part in any investigation in which he may be involved.
Through the law firm Hernández Barros, the contractor filed the amparo on February 9. According to the filing, at 12:00 p.m.
on January 21, alleged agents of the judicial police went to his private residence on Avenida de Las Fuentes in Jardines del Pedregal and asked for him, claiming to have an arrest warrant and a summons against him.
The filing states that because he was not at the property, the agents left without leaving further details about the alleged warrant or summons. Hernández says he does not know which authority issued the warrant or summons, citing the confidentiality with which such judicial requests are handled.
Hernández, whose companies Corporativo Zeg and Cajas Graf have received multimillion-peso contracts from the INE and local electoral bodies, asked several federal judges in Mexico City and the State of Mexico to inform him whether he is listed in any investigation file or proceeding as a suspect, defendant, probable responsible party, or related person in connection with any crime.
He sought a provisional and, if applicable, definitive suspension against any arrest warrant or summons issued against him. In February, Hernández authorized Julio Antonio Hernández Barros, Julio Antonio Hernández Sicilia, Raúl Monzón González and Jesús Fernández Hernández as his attorneys.
