Harfuch Announces 32 Arrests Following 38 Operations in Estado de México; 178,000 Liters of LP Gas Seized, Digi Mart USA News (Estado de México, Mexico): Omar García Harfuch, secretary of Public Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), reported the arrest of 32 people during 38 simultaneous operations carried out in the Estado de México as part of federal efforts to combat extortion, homicides and other violent crimes. In a message posted Thursday, November 5, on his account on X, the official said the operations were carried out under instructions from President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, with the support of state governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez.

Among the results, authorities seized approximately 178,000 liters of LP gas, along with firearms, narcotics and vehicles allegedly linked to criminal activity. García Harfuch identified those detained as “Miky Juárez,” “El Gigan” and “El Pollo,” whom authorities described as alleged leaders of organizations dedicated to extortion, drug-related crimes and the illicit trade in LP gas.

The official also confirmed the arrest of two municipal police officers from Nezahualcóyotl who were allegedly linked to the criminal structures under investigation. He said the operation against the group known as “Los Gigan,” linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was the result of seven months of investigation.

The operations involved the SSPC, the Secretariat of National Defense, the Secretariat of the Navy, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the National Guard and the National Intelligence Center. The state Secretariat of Public Security, the state attorney general’s office, Petróleos Mexicanos and municipal authorities also collaborated.

García Harfuch said investigations will continue to identify and dismantle the financial and protection networks of the criminal organizations. “No public office or union facade can serve as a shield for committing crimes,” the federal official warned.
