European Union photography contest Mi Camino, Mi Ciudad, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): The European Union in Mexico has launched the photography contest “Mi Camino, Mi Ciudad” under the slogan “Cada trayecto tiene una historia. ¿Cuál es la tuya?” (Every journey has a story.
What is yours?). The initiative is part of the “El Poder de Unirnos” campaign.
The contest aims to turn everyday experiences into visual stories that encourage public conversation about sustainable mobility and how people live in and move through cities. It is open to people aged 18 to 35 of any nationality who reside in Mexico, with a particular focus on students, recent graduates and young professionals in fields such as photography, communication, journalism, advertising, design and the arts.
The single official category is “Movilidad cotidiana: cada camino cuenta una historia” (Daily mobility: every path tells a story). Participants must authentically portray their daily experience using sustainable transport, such as walking, bicycles (conventional or electric), skateboards, public transit or a combination of these.
Each image must be accompanied by a short text explaining how the photograph relates to the participant’s usual mobility.
Ten finalist photographs will be selected for the official selection and will receive promotion on digital platforms. Among them, the top three places will be determined.
The first three winners will have the opportunity to receive their awards at an in-person event organized by the European Union in Mexico City.
Key dates: photographs will be accepted from October 15 to November 15; the jury will evaluate entries from November 19 to 24; finalists will be notified on November 26 by email, with 24 hours to respond; and the official winners will be announced on November 30.
