Carlos Rivera Reportedly Facing Vocal Cord Injury and Surgery

Carlos Rivera vocal cord injury and surgery: Mexican singer reportedly faces surgery this week after bleeding led to a vocal cord injury, with a recovery of about three months expected and a return to performing possibly in February or March 2027.

Carlos Rivera vocal cord injury and surgery, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): Mexican singer Carlos Rivera, a former contestant of the television talent program La Academia who is widely admired by fans, colleagues and members of the press, is reportedly going through a difficult health situation. According to El Heraldo de México, many people have expressed concern for the well-being of the singer of “Regrésame mi corazón.”

In October, Rivera announced that he had to postpone some concerts scheduled for late 2026 due to a health problem. The publication reports that he may undergo surgery on any day this week to address an injury to his vocal cords.

The information came from journalist Joel O’Farril, who appeared as a guest on the digital program hosted by Gustavo Adolfo Infante on Wednesday, November 4. O’Farril said the injury was a direct lesion to the vocal cords and that it first became noticeable when Rivera began to bleed.

He reportedly sought medical attention immediately, and doctors prescribed an emergency treatment that required him to avoid speaking for two weeks.

According to O’Farril, that treatment did not achieve the desired result when re-evaluated around September or early October, and doctors determined that surgery was necessary. As a result, Rivera cancelled dates in Querétaro and postponed concerts in Monterrey and other November and December dates.

O’Farril said the surgery was apparently scheduled for this week.

The same report states that Rivera’s recent performance at the Fiestas de Octubre in Guadalajara would be his last of 2026. O’Farril also said the singer will not return to the stage for the remainder of the year, as recovery is expected to take at least three months.

He suggested Rivera could resume performances in February or March 2027. The report is based on the publisher’s account and has not been independently verified.
