Straws-Berry French-made reusable drinking straws, Digi Mart USA News: The French company Straws-Berry is taking aim at an everyday item found in cafés, hotels, restaurants and leisure venues: the drinking straw. The company aims to offer an alternative to conventional straws without sacrificing comfort, durability or appearance, while producing the product entirely in France, from raw materials to manufacturing.
The company relies on bio-sourced raw materials of French origin combined with a formulation that includes mineral components. After more than two years of research and development, it has developed a new generation of straws designed and manufactured in France.
According to the source, controlling the production chain makes it possible to enhance local resources, support French industrial activity and limit intermediaries. Three patents have been filed around the innovation.
Many paper straws soften after a few minutes in a glass, and the company says its straws are designed to resist both hot and cold drinks, within a stated temperature range of -20 °C to +90 °C. They reportedly do not disintegrate in the glass and keep their shape during use.
The straws are also said to withstand up to 20 dishwasher cycles at 90 °C, in accordance with the NF EN 12875-1 certification.
The company also emphasizes taste neutrality. According to organoleptic tests carried out in a French laboratory, the straws are odorless and tasteless and are designed not to alter the flavor of beverages, a detail the company considers important for restaurant customers.
Straws-Berry offers several formats. Small-Berry is a 14 cm straw suited to cocktails and short drinks.
Classic-Berry measures 20 cm and is intended for sodas, waters and long drinks. Large-Berry has a wider diameter for smoothies and milkshakes, and Bubble-Berry is designed for bubble tea.
The straws are available in two finishes: frosted white and rock black.
The company also works with a Parisian ESAT, a French sheltered employment establishment, which involves about 80 workers with disabilities in preparing and packaging orders. According to figures released by the brand, more than 3,000 establishments have adopted Straws-Berry straws, and the company says it was selected among innovations presented at Sirha 2025, a major French food service and hospitality trade show.
The source notes that the environmental benefits of any alternative should be assessed over its full life cycle, including actual usage duration and end-of-life conditions.
