Oscar Jegou withdrawal from France vs Fiji rugby match, Digi Mart USA News (Lyon, France): La Rochelle flanker Oscar Jegou has been ruled out of France’s international rugby match against Fiji, scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon, according to a report by Angers Info citing L’Équipe.
The 23-year-old injured his ribs during France training on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. He was set to sit on the bench for his 16th cap in the blue jersey, but must give up his place in the squad to Bayonne’s Esteban Capilla, who will earn his first international cap.
According to L’Équipe, the injury adds to a list of injury-related absences in the French squad ahead of the autumn’s first test match. Jegou was hurt in the ribcage during contact drills in training.
Teammate Paul Boudehent, who was briefly rested due to neck discomfort, remains in the starting XV selected by the coach.
To replace the La Rochelle flanker, the France coaching staff called up Esteban Capilla of Aviron Bayonnais. The change alters the composition of the replacements selected to face Fiji in Lyon.
