Laurent Ruquier Patrick Sébastien France Télévisions dispute, Digi Mart USA News: Laurent Ruquier says he holds no bitterness toward anyone after his long career at France Télévisions. Speaking during a media tour for his theater production, he said he has been fortunate and well treated by television.
Both Ruquier and Patrick Sébastien were long-established faces of France 2 before leaving the public broadcaster. Sébastien is preparing to open his own cabaret, Chez Patoche, in Brive-la-Gaillarde on November 19.
Ruquier has left his television programs to focus on theater, and he currently stars in the play Chante et tais-toi! alongside singer Vincent Niclo.
Ruquier said he was initially upset when his time at the public broadcaster ended in 2023, after nearly twenty-five years. “I don’t hold a grudge.
At the time, yes, obviously. It is never pleasant to live through,” he said on the podcast Bangerz with Déborah Grunwald.
He added that time had helped him move past it.
Ruquier also described a recent encounter with Delphine Ernotte, the head of France Télévisions, at a decoration ceremony for a mutual acquaintance. He said she appeared to ignore him, which he considered a shame, adding that he regretted not approaching her himself.
Ruquier suggested that the tension between Sébastien and France Télévisions stems partly from Sébastien’s own conduct. He pointed to the provocative song “Delphine,” released in April, in which Sébastien sings that if “Delphine had known his dick, he would have stayed on France 2.” Ruquier said he would not have made such a song and told Sébastien so directly.
It is unknown whether Sébastien responded to that criticism.
