PSG Parc des Princes redevelopment and possible move to Stade de France, Digi Mart USA News (Paris, France): The future of the Parc des Princes remains uncertain as several relocation options to Massy or Poissy are still under study. The Paris Saint-Germain could ultimately pursue a different solution, according to a report published by L’Équipe.
According to L’Équipe, the Qatari owners are considering an investment of between 1.5 and 2 billion euros in a large-scale project called “Porte des Princes,” designed to transform the stadium and its surroundings. The project would go beyond a simple renovation of the Parisian venue.
The first step would require PSG to buy the Parc des Princes from the City of Paris, a condition described as essential before such an investment could begin. The club would then aim to increase the stadium’s capacity from 48,000 to nearly 70,000 seats through expanded stands and a complete modernization of the facilities.
The plan also includes a deep transformation of the areas around the stadium. It would include a museum dedicated to the club, a large store, as well as housing and a hotel.
The objective would be to turn the neighborhood into a genuine sporting and commercial destination well beyond match nights.
This work could, however, force PSG to temporarily leave its historic home. According to information from L’Équipe, the Stade de France is among the options being considered to host Paris matches during the construction period.
Before reaching that point, the club must still reach an agreement with the Paris city government on the purchase of the Parc des Princes.
