France creator economy market 2026, Digi Mart USA News: The French content creator market is expected to reach nearly 9 billion euros in 2026, an increase of 23.7% over one year, according to a study by the firm Coherent Market Insights (CMI). The study points to a very unequal distribution of revenues.
According to the report, France ranks third in Europe, behind Germany and the United Kingdom, and seventh worldwide, based on the “Creator Economy Report 2026.”
The study was unveiled Wednesday at the opening of Paris Creator Week, an event dedicated to the content creator ecosystem. Speakers included creators Thibaud Delapart, known as Tibo InShape, Justine Becattini, known as Jujufitcats, and Sébastien Frit, known as SEB, as well as High Commissioner for Children Sarah El Haïry, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy and Anne-Sophie Dhiver, deputy head of Viginum, the agency responsible for combating foreign online interference.
Content creators are people who regularly produce and distribute videos, photos or articles on social networks and platforms such as Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, including Léna Mahfouf, known as Léna Situations, and Lucas Hauchard, known as Squeezie. The market includes advertiser spending tied to creator content, such as partnerships and advertising, as well as subscriptions, merchandise sales and donations.
According to CMI estimates, creators capture 45.4% of the value of the French market. Platforms retain 31.3%, with the remainder going to software publishers, agencies and service providers.
For most creators, however, the activity remains poorly paid. Among the roughly 330,000 people monetizing their content in France, 56.1% earn less than 5,000 dollars a year (about 4,420 euros), and 9.5% earn more than 30,000 dollars (about 26,580 euros), according to the study.
The firm counts nearly 465,000 active creators in France with more than 1,000 subscribers and nearly 5,900 creator businesses generating more than 100,000 dollars (about 88,680 euros) in annual revenue.
Marc Lesage-Moretti, president and co-founder of Paris Creator Week, said France “has a real card to play in this new economy. The challenge now is to help our ecosystem take a new step, particularly in terms of financing and professionalization.”
Methodologically, the study draws on international economic and sector data, analysis of industry company databases and 369 interviews with market participants.
