Beau Geste France 2 100th episode Leïla Bekhti, Digi Mart USA News: Beau Geste, the French cinema magazine hosted by Pierre Lescure, is marking its 100th episode with a special anniversary broadcast. The program, a must-watch for cinephiles, will air Sunday, November 22, at 10:45 p.m.
on France 2 and streaming on france.tv.
The show, which launched in January 2023, has established itself as one of the rare late-evening programs on public broadcasting devoted entirely to film. Its approach favors long-form interviews, behind-the-scenes looks at film sets, and profiles of behind-the-camera professions, from cinematographers to script supervisors and editors.
Over five seasons, Beau Geste has featured more than 200 encounters and more than 400 reports, drawn from hundreds of sets, festivals, and premieres. The program received the Laurier de l’audiovisuel for best magazine in 2024.
Lescure shares presenting duties with France Inter voice Rebecca Manzoni.
For the anniversary episode, the program has chosen actress Leïla Bekhti, whose career tracks recent French cinema. She rose to public attention with Sheitan in 2005 and gained wider recognition with Jacques Audiard’s A Prophet, which earned nine César awards.
Months later she won the César for most promising actress for Tout ce qui brille.
Since then, Bekhti has moved between auteur films and popular releases, including The Source of Women by Radu Mihaileanu and The Big Bath by Gilles Lellouche. The interview is expected to cover her career over the past two decades.
The broadcast also includes a look back at five seasons of encounters and reports, with original music by Benjamin Biolay. Highlights from the early seasons are available on a dedicated YouTube channel.
