Baptiste Veistroffer Cambodia to Vietnam bike ride for Molembike charity, Digi Mart USA News: Baptiste Veistroffer is preparing to trade the peloton’s roads for those of Southeast Asia. After exploring Thailand last year, the cyclist known as the “wild boar of Fouesnant” has chosen to repeat the experience in November, with a major challenge: riding 2,500 kilometers by bicycle between Cambodia and Vietnam.
The trip will not be purely touristic. The rider of the Belgian team Lotto-Intermarché intends to dedicate the journey to a good cause.
Speaking on the RMC podcast Peloton, he announced he wants to support Molembike, an association that promotes social ties through cycling.
His goal is to raise 5,000 euros for the organization. Lotto, the sponsor of his team, and equipment maker Ekoi have each pledged to contribute one euro for every kilometer ridden.
“The association promotes cycling and helps people with limited means in disadvantaged neighborhoods gain bicycle mobility. So it combines several things for a good cause in the end,” the rider explained.
True to his adventurous temperament, Veistroffer will not follow the usual winter training program of the peloton. While his peers favor high-altitude training camps to prepare for the next season, the Breton, who discovered the Tour de France in summer 2026, will ride Asian roads with bags attached to his bike.
“What is interesting is that I won’t create much mental fatigue. I won’t have the routine.
It is an underestimated burden during the winter. I will be in a pleasant climate for riding, around 28 degrees.
I will discover incredible parts of the world. On a bike, I discover much more,” he said.
