Swiss parents financial education for children, Digi Mart USA News (Switzerland): An exclusive study reported by Beobachter shows that half of young adults wish they had received more financial knowledge from home. Yet in many Swiss families, money is rarely discussed openly, even at the kitchen table.

Children often accompany their parents to the supermarket or weekly market. They watch as their parents check prices, compare products and pay for purchases.

At home, they play at shopping with toy shops and toy cash registers, so their curiosity about money is clearly present.

Still, in many families, careful money management is seldom discussed, even in an era of globalized financial markets, crypto exchanges and bold investment promises on social networks. Young adults say they wish their parents had taught them more about handling money.

This is according to a study by the research institute Sotomo, which Beobachter has obtained exclusively.

The study examined, among other things, how parents talk with their children about money and what children would have liked to learn from them about it.
