Mexico 3×3 basketball team debut at 2026 Youth Olympic Games Dakar, Digi Mart USA News: After two years of preparation and the goal of making history, Mexico’s National 3×3 Basketball Team is ready to debut at the IV Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026, where it hopes to advance to the final rounds and fight for a medal.
Cintia Ortiz Granel, coach of the Mexican team, highlighted the strength and speed of the players, as well as the commitment they have shown during training sessions ahead of the competition. “We have a strong team, a fast team, one that gives its all in every training session, and we are sure it will leave everything on the court,” she said.
The coach also emphasized that members of the national squad have experience in this form of basketball, which will allow them to face the international challenge with confidence and a well-defined style of play.
The path to Senegal began two years ago with a project involving different technical staff and constant monitoring of the athletes during their training camps. One stage of preparation took place at the Mexican Olympic Sports Center, where the team worked to arrive in optimal physical condition and strengthen its collective functioning.
Ortiz explained that the national team sought to bring together the best players for the competition, familiarize them with the 3×3 format and build its own strategy. “It was two years of work aimed at this goal of being here and arriving prepared.
The aim was to have the best players, in optimal form, very familiar with the format, and to consolidate our own style of play,” she said.
