Alex Pastoor PEC Zwolle head coach, Digi Mart USA News: PEC Zwolle is reportedly set to appoint Alex Pastoor as its new head coach. The report comes from journalist Jeroen Stekelenburg on NOS Studio Sport Voetbal, a Dutch sports broadcast.
During the broadcast, Stekelenburg said he had just received word that the new PEC Zwolle head coach would be presented on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. He added that the appointment had not yet been confirmed, but that the most persistent rumor pointed to Pastoor.
If the report is accurate, Pastoor would return to the Dutch Eredivisie after about two and a half years. The 60-year-old Amsterdam native most recently worked as assistant coach to national team manager Patrick Kluivert with the Indonesian national team.
Pastoor previously served as head coach of Excelsior Rotterdam, NEC Nijmegen, Sparta Rotterdam and Almere City in the Eredivisie. At Zwolle, he would take over from Henry van der Vegt, who was dismissed in mid-October.
PEC Zwolle currently sits in 13th place in the league table.
The move would also reunite Pastoor with Sherel Floranus, whom Pastoor gave his professional debut.
