Max Verstappen Red Bull Racing Sao Paulo Grand Prix form, Digi Mart USA News (São Paulo, Brazil): Max Verstappen placed third in the second practice session ahead of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, a provisional result, as conditions were tricky with light rain falling on the circuit.
Three wins, seven consecutive podium finishes and second place in the drivers’ championship standings have marked a strong recovery for Verstappen and his team, Red Bull Racing. Much of the attention this season has gone to Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes, who became world champion last weekend.
“I’m surprised myself. I certainly didn’t expect to win this many races this season,” said the four-time world champion, speaking ahead of the 20th Grand Prix of the season in Brazil.
Verstappen also won after the races in Malaysia and Singapore, as well as in Mexico, where it was his sixth Formula 1 victory. “Things have been going great lately.
We have taken big steps forward,” said the 29-year-old driver.
“We started this season with many question marks and problems. We did not understand the car well, and that also applied to the new engine, but we never gave up and never let our shoulders drop.
The team deserves credit. Together we turned the tide.”
