Liam Lawson F1 2027 seat uncertainty, Digi Mart USA News: Liam Lawson heads into another round of the Formula 1 championship still unsure whether he will have a seat in 2027. The 24-year-old New Zealander has had a highly encouraging season, but it has not prompted his Racing Bulls bosses to reward him with a drive next year.

Speaking to F1.com on the eve of the Brazil Grand Prix, Lawson said the situation was difficult. “I mean, it’s tough, isn’t it?” he said.

Lawson, teammate Arvid Lindblad and Red Bull junior driver Nikola Tsolov are competing for the two Racing Bulls seats. Lawson is ninth in the drivers’ championship with 83 points, but Red Bull is always searching for its next world champion, and there is a chance he could lose out to the 19-year-old Bulgarian.

“It’s the end of the season. When something like this is pushed all the way to the end, you’re left with not really any options,” Lawson said.

“So it’s not the easiest situation. Obviously, I want to be racing in Formula 1, and I’m trying to show my best every weekend.

I feel like we’ve had a good year.”

Meanwhile, there is paddock discussion that Valtteri Bottas could lose his seat at Cadillac despite having a year left on his contract. Bottas, like teammate Sergio Perez, has yet to score any championship points for the new Cadillac team in 2026.

The 37-year-old Finn was asked about rumors that his seat might be under threat. “In my head, it should be okay.

You know, that’s what I signed up for, for the long term,” he told F1. “I haven’t heard anything other than that, so in my head, it should be all good.”

Lawson scored points after starting from the pit lane last weekend in Mexico and is looking forward to Brazil despite the prospect of rain. “I feel like it always rains here.

Yesterday, I got to the hotel and was watching one of the craziest thunderstorms I’ve ever witnessed. So if it’s like that, it’ll be a tough race.”

The Racing Bulls car has been quick and reliable this year, and Lawson has made the most of it by scoring points in 14 of the 19 rounds so far. “I’m excited.

I feel like the speed’s been good, and in Mexico it was very, very good. I don’t see why we shouldn’t be quick here.

I feel like it’s a track that I enjoy driving, and the car should work well. I think the bigger question is the weather over the weekend.”

There are four rounds remaining in the championship: Brazil, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
