Thierno Barry Everton Premier League double, Digi Mart USA News: Everton moved up to fifth place in the Premier League on Friday after coming from behind to beat Coventry 3-1, with French striker Thierno Barry scoring twice. Barry now has six goals in his last seven matches across all competitions.
Everton trailed after Yann Gboho scored for Coventry in the 52nd minute. Barry equalized in the 56th minute and put Everton ahead in the 61st minute.
He then set up Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who made it 3-1 in the 81st minute.
The win was Everton’s fourth victory of the season in the Premier League and leaves them with 16 points. Liverpool (sixth, 15 points) and Brentford (seventh, 14 points) play later this weekend.
Barry has 10 goals in 13 Premier League matches this season, and he also scored the winning goal in Everton’s 1-0 victory at Newcastle on Monday.
Barry, a 24-year-old former Villarreal player, is the only recognized striker available to manager David Moyes. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said he tries to give his best every time he plays and wants to score in every match.
Despite his strong start, Barry was not included in Zinedine Zidane’s France squad for the Nations League matches against Italy and Turkey on November 12 and 15. Zidane instead called up Marcus Thuram and Pablo Pagis to cover the absences of Ousmane Dembélé, Maghnes Akliouche, Esteban Lepaul and Hugo Ekitike in attack.
Barry made eight appearances for France’s Espoirs (under-21 side) in 2025 and will have to wait longer for a senior call-up.
