BARNES luxury real estate opens Mexico City office, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico City, Mexico): Mexico City has become one of the most sought-after and competitive markets for high-end real estate investment, even when compared with Manhattan in New York or the Golden Triangle in Paris. Amid growing international interest in the capital, record foreign investment, a diverse residential supply and prices that are competitive with the world’s leading luxury markets, the international luxury firm BARNES, which specializes in luxury real estate and services linked to L’art de vivre, announced the opening of an office in Mexico City.
The move is part of BARNES’ global strategy, which includes a network of more than 150 offices in 26 countries. According to the BARNES City Index 2026, which ranks the 50 cities most sought after by high-net-worth individuals, Mexico City ranks above markets such as Luxembourg, Hong Kong and Toronto.
The firm says the city has established itself as one of the most attractive markets for luxury wealth investment, driven by its economy and architectural diversity.
Pierre de Saint Vincent, partner at BARNES Mexico, said that Mexico City offers conditions that are especially attractive to international buyers because of its potential for appreciation, quality of life and competitive transaction costs, which range from 6% to 8% of the property value. According to BARNES, two million dollars can buy a property of between 235 and 365 square meters in Polanco, compared with 85 to 125 square meters in the Golden Triangle of Paris and the 6th arrondissement, and 60 to 90 square meters in Manhattan.
Based on the firm’s estimates, residential prices in the capital grew between 8% and 10% annually from 2021 to 2025, with even higher growth in the luxury segment. Given the limited supply of premium properties, BARNES estimates that prime locations in Mexico City could appreciate between 25% and 35% by 2030, due to the local market’s potential compared with established international destinations.
Led by Benjamin Brjost, the BARNES team in Mexico City will handle sales and investment transactions for high-end residential properties in the city’s most sought-after areas. Demand for high-end housing is concentrated in Polanco, Lomas de Chapultepec and Santa Fe, which offer very different lifestyles.
Polanco combines premium properties, high-end retail and cultural life; Lomas de Chapultepec is home to some of the capital’s most exclusive residences; and Santa Fe is concentrated with contemporary residential developments.
San Ángel and Coyoacán retain a unique heritage character, with historic houses, patios and gardens, while La Roma and La Condesa stand out for their Art Deco and Porfirian architecture as well as their vibrant gastronomic and cultural scene.
Thibault de Saint Vincent, president of BARNES, said that with the opening of BARNES Mexico the company is reinforcing its presence in Latin America and expanding its capacity to support international clients in one of the region’s most dynamic real estate markets. BARNES is present in 25 countries with 150 offices, including cities across Europe, the Americas and Asia, as described in the source article.
The firm’s real estate offering covers the sale of apartments, houses, mansions, châteaux and exceptional properties, as well as new residential construction and viager sales (lifetime annuity sales). It also includes residential and vacation rentals, rental management, and professional and commercial real estate, particularly offices, retail premises, hotels and buildings.
