Jannik Sinner thanks coach Darren Cahill after five seasons together, Digi Mart USA News: Jannik Sinner dedicated a message of gratitude on Friday to Darren Cahill, who has ended his tenure as the Italian player’s coach after five seasons. Sinner thanked the Australian for being there “in every moment” and for teaching him that tennis is important but not everything.

In a video posted on social media, which included moments shared from their time together, Sinner recalled meeting Cahill in 2022. “Darren, when we started working together in 2022, I was simply a thin young Italian with a lot of questions.

You never gave me all the answers. You helped me find them myself,” he said.

Sinner described Cahill as becoming much more than a coach over time, saying he became someone Sinner could trust, lean on and call a friend. He cited milestones they achieved together, including the Melbourne Grand Slam title, reaching world No. 1 and winning Wimbledon, adding that they had shared many experiences.

Sinner noted that Cahill, a former player who won 15 ATP tournaments, had told him in 2025 that he would step away, but stayed on with him. “Somehow it seemed I couldn’t get rid of you,” he joked.

He said he would remember not the trophies but the long hours on the practice court, the flights, the dinners and the support, including the difficult days.

Sinner said he will miss looking up after an important point and seeing Cahill in the stands. He acknowledged that the season did not end as they had hoped, but said that did not change what they achieved together.

“A large part of what I am as a player and as a person I owe to you. Five seasons.

I will not forget a single day of them. Thank you, friend, for everything.

It has been a privilege,” he concluded.

Sinner is scheduled to compete in the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh on December 27, 28 and 30, as he recently announced. He has been away from the court since July 12, when he won Wimbledon, and announced he would not return until 2027 because of a knee injury.

On October 6, he said he was ending his 2026 season to undergo treatment on his right knee.
