UEFA country coefficient ranking, Digi Mart USA News: France had a mixed European week after the heavy defeat of Lens to Como (1-9) in the Champions League on Wednesday. Overall, French clubs recorded three wins and three draws, which kept the country’s fifth-place position in the UEFA coefficient ranking.

The wins came from Paris Saint-Germain, which beat Villarreal 6-0 away, Olympique de Marseille, which won 1-0 at Leverkusen in the Europa League, and Monaco, which defeated Nordsjaelland 2-0 in the Conference League. The draws were Bodo/Glimt against Lille (0-0), Rennes against Olympiacos (0-0), and Real Sociedad against Lyon (1-1).

Portugal, however, continued to close the gap. Its five representatives recorded four wins and one draw, with Sporting Lisbon beating Donetsk 1-0 and FC Porto defeating Napoli 4-1 in the Champions League.

In the Europa League, Benfica beat Lech Poznan 3-1 and second-division club Torreense beat Ararat-Armenia 3-2, while Braga drew 0-0 with Aarhus in the Conference League.

France now leads Portugal by only 3,146 points, compared with 3,660 a week earlier. France has 72,296 points, while Portugal has 69,150.

The coefficient is calculated over the last five seasons, and France lost the advantage of the 2021-2022 season, when it earned 18,416 points compared with 12,916 for Portuguese clubs. France began the season with a lead of 4,832 points, which has since narrowed.

The stakes are significant, as the fifth-place position provides seven European places: four in the Champions League (including one in the third qualifying round), two in the Europa League and one in the Conference League. A sixth-place position reduces the allocation by one, with one fewer direct Champions League qualifier.

The UEFA country coefficient ranking as of November 5, 2026 is: England 107,685 points; Italy 91,732; Spain 86,493; Germany 84,973; France 72,296; Portugal 69,150; Belgium 64,050; Netherlands 56,395; Turkey 53,075; Greece 47,612.
