Truck driver found bound hand and foot after robbery on Mexico-Puebla highway, Digi Mart USA News (Mexico): A cargo truck driver was stripped of his vehicle and abandoned, tied hand and foot, on the side of the Mexico-Puebla highway. The incident occurred along the roadway at the San Marcos section, where the victim was left completely immobilized after the truck was stolen.
Another transporter traveling the same route discovered the driver lying at the roadside. Realizing the situation, he got out of his vehicle with a knife and cut the plastic zip ties binding the victim’s wrists and ankles.
The rescue was filmed by the driver who came to help. During the recording, the trucker showed the conditions in which he found the victim and made a public appeal to draw attention to the constant violent robberies that transport operators suffer on the country’s highway corridors.
As of now, there is no official report of anyone detained for this robbery or of the location of the stolen truck. Local media and members of the trucking industry have publicized the case to demand a greater presence of security authorities and the National Guard on this highway.
