Chicharito did not rule out becoming a Formula 1 driver, and he shared evidence of his day with the Red Bull team, where he met Verstappen and spoke with him briefly. He captioned the video, “First day in Formula 1.

I think I have talent.” The appearance took place during the United States Grand Prix, where the team took him to the garage to observe the tires and race cars.

Chicharito also said he had a conversation with Verstappen and joked that he chose not to race on his supposed first day in F1 so he would not take attention away from the Dutch driver of the Austrian team. “I had a meeting with Verstappen.

I explained that I am used to playing as a striker. In the end I decided not to race so I would not take the spotlight away from Verstappen,” the striker said.

Chicharito Hernández is currently enjoying a break from football, which is expected to end in the coming months. He is scheduled to return to official play in March 2027, when he makes his debut with his new club, Atlético Dallas of the USL Championship.

The Mexican striker was announced several months ago as the headline signing for the Texas franchise.
